LLNE Spring Meeting - Prosser Library Children's Collection Book Drive

On behalf of the LLNE Service Committee, I would like to offer my assistance to local librarians who wish to donate books to the Prosser Library Children's Collection Book Drive (for additional details see http://www.law.uconn.edu/library/llne/bookdrive) . If you would like to make a donation, but are unable to attend the Spring Meeting on Friday, April 21, 2006, please contact me by email or telephone (details below) and I will be happy to arrange to deliver the items for you.

scholarships for AALL Annual Meeting in St. Louis

LLNE will award one or two scholarships of $750 to help with the expenses of attending AALL in St. Louis this summer. The application can be found on the LLNE website, http://www.aallnet.org/chapter/llne/forms/annschol.htm. The deadline is May 1. 2006. This will allow the committee to review applications and make awards in time for the recipients to register by June 1.

Stephen Abram wrote a great piece for the February issue of Information Outlook that suggests 43 things you could try this year. The piece is reproduced in PDF here. Some of the suggestions I haven't tried yet include: play with jibjab; use LibraryThing to catalog your personal library; and make a map of all the countries you have visited at Visited Countries.
